UBC’s Education for Sustainability program is inspired by an Adaptive Education pedagogy, designed in an on-going relationship between city studio and the City of Vancouver. This means that we are learning about sustainability by contributing to public policy. Our main contribution is developing policy-based project ideas by asking for feedback from experts and interested others. We believe that all citizens can be involved in the research process as they are acquainted with the particularities and nuances of their own social context. Our program is designed to uncover and refine, by trial and error, effective habits that can be positively emulated in public spaces.
